BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES
December 11, 2002

 

Duplicate Bridge Association of Atlanta

President Jack Feagin called the meeting to order. Present: Nancy Watkins, Gabriel Fadel, Kevin Collins, Beatrice Kemp, Bill Burks, and Josie Mitchell.

Minutes of the November 2002 DBAA Board meeting were approved.

Special Games The following Special Games dates have been set-aside for the DBAA Wednesday Unit Game.

  • GNT Qualifiers January 15, 2003 ,April 23, 2003
  • Change of Rank Party February 19, 2003
  • Membership Game March 12, 2003
    •

    Make plans to attend all these Special Wednesday night games.

    Christmas Party The budget for the Annual Christmas was set at $200. The party is to be held on December 18 at the Unit game.

    Advertising. The need for creative approaches for new advertising was discussed at length. No firm approaches were decided upon.

    Lessons Doug Hill will be giving free lessons on January 8th and 19th, starting at 6:30 pm. Most of the lessons will be concerning the "Play of the Hand." The first lesson will be on Counting.

    Financial Jack has asked Bill Burke to come up with a way to track income and expenses on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. This charting will be the first step in setting up a budget for the DBAA. Long term plans as well as short term expenses need to be addressed in the budget. Quicken programs were discussed as a good tool to use for this project.

    Club Directors The need to E-Mail the minutes to the Club Directors/Owners was discussed. It was agreed that this would help keep everyone informed of the plans and projects being discussed and decided upon at the DBAA meetings.
