Special Games: GNT Qualifiers January 15, 2003

Mistakenly, the GNT was listed for this Wed, Jan 8, so Miles will run a GNT tonight if enough participate as well as an Open Pairs game. The GNT for next Wed, Jan 15 will be promoted via a flyer made by Beatrice Kemp and emails sent by Gabriel Fadel.

Lessons: Doug Hill’s free lessons began tonight, Wed, January 8 and will be held on the 2^nd and 4^th Wed night of each month.

Financial: No treasurer’s report.

Education: A discussion was held on ways to get the new bridge students to participate in duplicate games. Jack Feagin, introduced the idea of giving a Free Play Coupon to each bridge student completing a course in beginning bridge. The Free Play would be handed out by the Director or Instructor of the class and the student could play free in limited games. Directors would submit the Free Play to the DBAA for reimbursement of $3.00 per Free Play. Local directors will be contacted for their support and participation in the Free Play Coupon. Gabriel to contact Priscilla, Carolyn will contact Larry Rich/Nancy Hetsko and Jack will contact other directors. Once approved, Beatrice Kemp will print up the coupon designed by Gabriel.

Novice Game: A discussion was held on re-instating on Wed night a game for novice players with a limit of 0-99 points. An effort will be made to find a director who would be interested in beginning, sustaining and promoting this limited game.

Bridge Classes: Saturday night classes were advertised in Creative Loafing and 5 calls were received on the phone Voice Mail Box. Patty Tucker will teach the 6 week course.
