DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES |

President Jack Feagin called the meeting to order.
Present: Gabriel Fadel, Beatrice Kemp, Josie Mitchell and Carolyn
Eckert. Minutes: of the February 2003 DBAA Board meeting were approved. Special Games:
Friendship Game: On February 22, four established bridge players played duplicate bridge with the newly graduated students. Welcome Back Game: Jack suggested we have a special party in May during the DBAA unit game for players who have been absent from bridge for one year or more. Financial: No treasurer’s report was available. Miles Duke requested that he make a deposit of Unit Game money directly into DBAA checking account. Jack will provide Miles with deposit slips. Free Play Coupons: Nancy Hetsko has received the coupons and all other directors will receive theirs soon. Jack suggested that the Free Play Coupons be given out by the board members to players who have been absent from the game for an extended time to encourage the return of players. Novice Game: Discussion continues on having a 0-99 game on Wed nights. DBAA is willing to fund a director who will initiate, promote and direct the game. Motion carried to have Jack approach Nancy Watkins as possible director. Estimated target date to launch ths game could be as early as June. Further discussion included extending the points to 0-199 instead of 0-99. Post Minutes: Nancy Watkins is willing to do it and wants to target a May 1 date and thinks 0-199 would be best.Old Business: Board will put on hold the purchase of a magnifying glass with attached light for visually impaired bridge players. New Business: Beatrice will follow up with Dan Plato on whether he would prefer DBAA to maintain their own supply of paper plates and napkins or give supplies directly to Dan.
