DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES |

President Jack Feagin called the meeting to order.
Present: Gabriel Fadel, Beatrice Kemp, Josie Mitchell Kevin Collins,
Bill Burk and Carolyn Eckert. Minutes: of the March 2003 DBAA Board meeting were approved. Financial: Jack presented Bill Burk with the check from the MidAtlanta to DBAA. Novice Game: Jack to discuss with Miles and Dan on obtaining a database of people who have not played recently to kick off this game. Old Business: DBAA to provide money to Dan for supplies as predetermined by Dan. Dan is paid $9 per table for the Unit game. New Business: Jack is following up on getting a proposal from the Peachtree/Holcomb Bridge Hilton as a possible site for a sectional tournament. A proposal was presented by Beatrice Kemp and approved by all to increase the entry fee for the unit games to $7.00 to remain consistent with the amount charged by Dan for his games. Dan presented a discussion on his views of our "novice game" and expressed concern about DBAA initiating a novice game when so many are currently available in his program and others. In addition to novice players, he would like to see DBAA focus on identifying people who have previously played bridge but are no longer participating in duplicate bridge and bring them back into bridge. Discussion ensued on having a Change of Rank game that would target people who have changed rank below the Life Master category. Dan would like DBAA to split the costs of having celebrities come to town to provide instructions as incentive to bring more people to the center. Meeting adjourned 7:30PM.
