BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES |
| President Jack Feagin called the meeting to order. Present: Susan Wolfe, Gabriel Fadel, Beatrice Kemp, Josie
Mitchell, Kevin Collins, Bill Burks, Kevin Colins and Carolyn Eckert.
1.Minutes: of the May 2003 DBAA Board meeting were approved. 2. Financial: Bill Burks submitted financial report. 3. Specialty Games: Novice Game: There is no forward movement yet on obtaining the database of people who have not played. The kickoff event will be delayed until Aug or Sept. NAOP Qualifier: The first event is scheduled for June 25 with subsequent NAOP’s each month. 4. Old Business: Sectional Tournament: Jack has signed a contract with the Peachtree/Holcomb Bridge Hilton for the sectional tournaments for 2004. Jack was able to withdraw under good terms from the Dec 2003 Sectional contract with the Ramada without any penalty fee. This event will be at the Hilton. Young Adult Program: August or Sept is the start date for another session. Susan Wolfe has accepted the appointment as unit rep 5. New Business: Suggestions were offered for registrations gifts for the Atlanta Regional this year. Beatrice Kemp gave report of Unit 114 meeting in Macon: 1. The NAOP Unit Finals will be held in Peachtree City again this year. Beatrice expressed interest in Atlanta hosting this event and suggested that future NAOP Unit Finals be rotated between Peachtree City, Macon, and Atlanta. Dan Plato is receptive to hosting the event if DBAA would support and endorse proposal for Atlanta site. 2. Vote was approved for STaC event supported by Unit 114 for the school program only, possibly in October. Carrie Snyder to coordinate event. 3. In lieu of "Pips and Tips", it was suggested to buy 2 pages In the District 7 Bulletin for news, nominations, elections news, etc. from Unit 114.
