BOARD OF DIRECTORS June 7th    MEETING MINUTES                                                            June 7, 2006

President Jack Feagin called the meeting to order.  Present:  Jack Feagin, Susan Wolfe, Josie Mitchell, Bill Burks, Kevin Collins, Beatrice Kemp, Jan Word and Carolyn Eckert.  

Items headlined in blue need future discussion and follow up.

 

1. Minutes:  May, 2006 minutes were approved. 

 

2. Financial:   April report was submitted and approved. 

 

3. Special Games:  

            July 5.......NORTH AMERICAN PAIRS

            July 26.....NORTH AMERICN PAIRS

            August 9.....NORTH AMERICAN PAIRS

            August 23….NORTH AMERICAN PAIRS

 

            Social Game & AARP Game: AARP game is restricted to age 55+ and less than 5 master points

 

4. Old Business:

Phone Book:  Jan called 400 people last Saturday.  She is preparing a phone directory list by retyping the corrected names and phone numbers which could result in 70+ front to back pages.  Once finalized, Jan and Jack will submit project to printing companies for quotes.

 

AtlantaJuniorBridge Funding Request: Patty Tucker, from AtlantaJuniorBridge submitted a proposal for funding of $612.08 for the purchase and silk screening of 12 dozen T-shirts to be used for the summer camp programs and summer scheduled lessons.  Any remaining shirts will be sold to the bridge playing public at a price of $10.00. A motion was made by Susan Wolfe and 2nd by Jan Word for DBAA to support purchase of the T shirts.  Motion carried.

5. New Business:

           DBAA game: Josie wondered if pay for substitute director is the same as a regular director.  Jack noted that all directors are paid $85 and bonus after 14 tables of $5.00

 

           Unity Game: is scheduled for June 24 at noon. A budget of $300 was allocated for refreshments.  The game will be members from both ACBL and ABA and could be upwards of 45 people.  Alpharetta Club is also participating in hosting a Unity Game and DBAA will reimburse the club toward refreshment costs.  Entry fee will be the regularly charged fee of the club.

 

           Jack will respond in person to Priscilla Smith’s recent email regarding membership solicitation, noting that in our official capacity, DBAA does not favor one club over another.
