Minutes of Annual Membership Meeting

March 29, 2008

President Nancy Hetsko called the meeting at Doraville Holiday Inn (Atlanta Sectional) to order at 2:00 PM.

Nancy announced that all of the officers selected by the Nominating Committee had run unopposed.  The new officers are:

President                   Tom Wight

Vice-President            Dick Myers

Treasurer                   Mary Ann Bateman

Secretary                   Nicolas Hammond

At this sectional there were elections held for several Area Representative positions on the Unit Board.  Elected in the Metro Atlanta area are:  Ralph Folkerts, Barbara Heller, Bill Marks, Marty Nathan and Dan Papineau.  Elected in the Northwest Area are Donna Parker and Ken Parker.  Representatives from the Northeast Area are Ron Cadora and Roy Taylor.

Nancy then turned the meeting over to newly elected President Tom Wight.  Tom thanked Nancy for leading the unit these past two years.

Tom explained that the Unit holds a Non-Life Master Pairs Championship each year and awards a trophy to the winners.  The Board has approved renaming this trophy which will now be known as the Priscilla A. Smith Trophy - Non-Life Master Pairs.

Tom announced the Unit winners in each category of the Ace of Clubs and of the Mini-McKenney for the year 2007.  Recognition awards were handed out to those present.

Patty Tucker announced that there had been 14 tables this morning for the Georgia Youth Teams Championship.  Eight teams competed in the open division and six in the newcomers.  The winners were Dhir Team – Arjun Dhir (Age 12), Zandy Rizzo (13), Andrew Jeng (11) and Richard Jeng (8)

The meeting was adjourned at 2:20 PM
